Halloween Town Budget Was Not Large

When the first installment of this movie franchise was proposed to director Duwayne Dunham, it was a $20-$30 million projects. However, the film cost was reduced to $4 million by Dunham. So, maintaining the tone and concept of the story, he made it possible to complete the movie in 5-6 times less cost. Interestingly, the movie has been shot in a quick span of 24 days. Yes, you read it right. Remember the sassy skeleton taxi driver from the movie? It was not an actor who dressed as a skeleton. Instead, it was a robot. We have come to know about the secret from Kimberly J. Brown, who played the role of Marnie Cromwell. She further revealed that during the shot, the robot used to make a sound as the dubbing was done later on.

Wish To Visit Halloween Town!

The shooting of the “Halloweentown” had happened in Oregon’s St. Helen’s town square. Ever since the release of the first movie in 1998, the whole town hosts the “Spirit Of Halloween” Festival. It is a way to celebrate the All Hallows’ Eve that starts from mid-September and ends on October 31. The festival is family-friendly with photos with original pumpkin from the film, haunted houses, pumpkin picking, and other activities.

It’s A Fall Film Shoot In Summer!

Yes, though the setup of the film is based on Halloween, the film has been shot in summer. However, without the touch of pumpkin-spice lattes, cold feel of the weather, the movie would have felt as blunt. As the shot was during the “dead of summer,” the actors used to move around the set wearing part of the costumes.

Improvising The Spell For The Shot

Throughout the “Halloween 2” movie, all the spells were scripted. However, in the first scene, actor Daniel Kountz had to evoke a spell on the spot. He was playing the son of evil Kalabar in the film. Kountz recalled that there was no spell the script for the part but the instruction to utter a spell. When the shot of his first scene was about to happen, the director asked him about making a spell. At that moment, Kountz recited a random German tune to fill the gap. We know how it sounded just in place.
