Interesting Solar System: 6 Lesser-Known Reality About The Space

Interesting Solar System: 6 Lesser-Known Reality About The Space

The universe has an abundance of interesting solar system facts. Among all those facts revealed or hidden in times, we know only a fraction of that. All those revelations bring surprise to us with their uniqueness. And, we start wondering about what’s still hidden in the mysterious space. We know that our solar system is made of planets, comets, stars, asteroids, moons, and various other things. Here let’s know about a few of these interesting facts of the solar system.

Interesting Solar System: NASA Space Suit, The Expensive Outfit

Do you know that the complete space suit of NASA costs $12,000,000? Of course, the cost is so high due to the backpack and the control module. Interestingly, the middle layer of this suit is designed to blow up, just like a balloon. It then suctions to astronaut’s body for preventing the astronaut from boiling up in the space.

A Diamond Planet In The Space

It may sound dizzying yet glamorous, but it’s a crazy truth. The researchers of Yale University have discovered a rocky planet in the space named 55 Cancri e. It appears to the research team that the planet has been made of graphite and diamond. They located the planet at a distance of 40 light-years away. The mass of the planet is 8x than Earth, while it’s radius is twice. And interestingly, you can see 55 Cancri e if you look in the right direction without the naked eye.

Interesting Solar System: 100 Million Years To Disappear Footprints

Do you know that all those footprints on the moon will stay on the moon surface for over 100 million years? They will remain solidified as they are today even after so many years as a timestamp. It happens because the moon has no water or wind on its surface. So, nothing can erode or wash away the prints on the surface.

Sun Wants To Hug The Planets!

Of course, it is not like literary hugging the planets. We all know that the sun’s gravity is too strong, and that’s why it is pulling the planets towards itself. So, planets work hard to pull themselves in the opposite direction. And as a result, planets float around the sun in their orbit. The gravity of planets and the sun together help the worlds to stay in orbit.

Interesting Solar System: Not Everything Shines Is A Star!

Yes, that’s true when it comes to the night-lit sky. You may assume that every glitter you see on the infinite space is a star. Most of these twinkling lights are of stars, but not all of them. Distant planets, moons of the planets, far-away galaxies, and human-made satellites give off lights. From Earth, it appears like stars to us in naked eyes.

One Among The Billions

According to space scientists, there are billions of galaxies in the space that we can’t see. All those galaxies are similar to our Milky Way. So, can you imagine the vastness of the interstellar space in comparison to us? Yes, the cosmos is infinite in its real sense. And, our solar system is part of one of the billion galaxies. Isn’t it amazing?
