Crate training is indeed essential, but it starts very slowly. It is imperative that you first create the crate with some treat for the dog. When your puppy can adapt to the shorter periods, then try to leave him for a more extended period. After this, you will find your dog also becoming quite comfortable in that particular space. But it would be best if you did not keep the dog in the crate for an entire day.
