The Dead Sea was created by the rift in the tectonic plates of the earth’s crust. The surface there stretched which led to the formation of the sea. It is also known by the name rift valley. It is observed that the sea is sinking more and more every year.

The Location- Dead Sea

The location of this sea is at the lowest point of the earth. The sea is 1,300 feet below the sea level, which is the lowest point on the earth. The deepest part of the sea is 2,500 feet below the sea level. It is situated near Jerusalem in Israel. It has bordering with the Judean desert which is a hot region.

The Salts In The Sand And The Water

Doctors across the globe prescribe visiting the Dead Sea to some of their patients. Yes, it is true. It is due to the natural and rare salts which are available in the sea. The water of this sea consists of more than 30 percent of salt and very high mineral content. So, the water is said to treat joint pain, respiratory diseases, and other skin related diseases. Also, the sand of the beach of the Dead Sea has medicinal properties, which can cure many skin diseases, so people apply this black sand to their whole body and it does show results.

If you do not know to swim, it is not at all a problem. You will not drown in the water even if you go deep into this sea. The water has such high content in salts that it is practically impossible to drown in this sea. It is said to be eight times more in salt content than any other sea or ocean on this planet.

No Vegetation In The Salty Water

There cannot be any plants or animals in this water. As is generally seen, there is a lot of vegetation and living organisms in the water. In this sea, you will not see any of them. As the salt content is so high, it is impossible for plants and animals to survive in this water. Only a certain type of bacteria can survive in this sea. So, remember, do not drink the salty water of the Dead Sea.
